Is there an elevator inside the Strand Theatre?
There is no elevator in the Strand Theatre. All patrons with seats in the Brown Family Generations Theater must use the stairs to access their seats.

How do you decide which film is in which auditorium at the Strand Theatre?
The Strand Theatre’s managing director endeavors to be flexible with the auditorium locations and the films. Some of these decisions can be up to the distributing Studio as some films must be in the largest auditorium for all or some of their run at the Strand Theatre. Other film’s locations are determined by the demographics the film is expected to reach.

Does the Strand Theatre have wheelchair accessibility?
Yes. The Strand Theatre can accommodate wheelchairs in our common areas and in both our downstairs auditoriums – The Main Theater and the First Commonwealth Bank Side Theater.

Does the Strand Theatre accommodate those that are hearing impaired, visually impaired or those that are on the Spectrum?
Yes. The Strand Theatre does offer assisted-listening headphones and closed captioning devices for those patrons that may need them. And for those on the Spectrum, the Strand Theatre offers noise-canceling headphones and weighted blankets for those patrons. These items are to be returned to the Box Office attendant after the film. You can inquire about any of these items at our Box Office.

Is smoking permitted inside the Strand Theatre?
No smoking, e-cigarette or vaping devices are permitted inside the Strand Theatre. Theater team members will ask you to leave if they discover a patron is in violation of this policy.

May I bring outside food and drink inside the Strand Theatre?
No outside food and drink is permitted inside the Strand Theatre. This includes Downtown Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) cups.

What is the policy on individuals being disruptive in the Strand Theatre?
Whether a person is disruptive in the common areas or in the individual auditoriums, these patrons will be asked to leave. If there are disruptive individuals in the auditoriums, please alert one of the Strand Theatre team members and we will ask those patrons to leave without any refund given.

What is the Strand Theatre’s policy on weapons?
While some movie theaters in Ohio may allow patrons to conceal and carry guns on premises, the Strand Theatre stance on this is quite clear: no person shall knowingly possess, have under the person’s control, convey, or attempt to convey a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance onto these premises.
Ohio law also generally makes it unlawful criminal trespass to knowingly carry firearms onto private property that is conspicuously posted with notices that carrying firearms or concealed firearms onto that property is prohibited.
